This privacy policy applies to the Fresh Connect Companion app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by About Fresh, Inc. (hereby referred to as "About Fresh" or "we") as a free service to support users of the Fresh Connect card program (our "Services").

This privacy policy relates only to About Fresh's collection and use of personal information collected via the Application. For more information about how About Fresh collects and uses personal information collected from program participants, please see our website privacy policy.

Personal Information We Collect

The Application collects information when you download it and use the Services. This information may include information such as:

  • Your device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address)
  • The pages of the Application that you visit, the time and date of your app usage, and the time spent on those pages
  • The time spent on the Application
  • Device information, including the operating system you use on your mobile device
  • Which barcodes have been scanned
  • Your preferred language
  • The browser type you use to access the Application, if applicable
  • Food preference filters you set within the Application

We collect this information from you or automatically when you use the Application. We may use technologies provided by third-party partners, including software development kits (SDKs), which may collect some or all of the information above.

  • To provide, operate, maintain, secure and improve our Application and our Services.

We may disclose personal information with certain third parties, under the circumstances set forth below:

  • Service Providers and Partners: About Fresh, like many non-profit organizations, sometimes hires third party companies to perform certain business-related functions that help us provide our Services and run our organization. Examples of such functions include: maintaining databases, analytics, and the provision of other IT services.
  • Professional Advisors: We may disclose personal information to professional advisors, such as lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers, where necessary in the course of the professional services which we have retained them to render to us.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a transaction or proposed transaction involving the transfer of substantially all of the assets of About Fresh to another entity, whether an affiliate or a third party, or in connection with a bankruptcy, we may share personal information in the diligence process or to otherwise facilitate the transaction, and with individuals assisting in the transaction or in connection with a bankruptcy. Personal information may also be one of the transferred assets as part of the transaction or bankruptcy.

Opt-Out Rights

You can stop all collection of information by the Application by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.

"Do Not Track" Signals

Some Internet browsers may be configured to send "Do Not Track" signals to the online services that you visit. Our Site do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" or similar signals. To find out more about "Do Not Track," please visit http://www.allaboutdnt.com/.

Data Retention Policy

The About Fresh will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. If you'd like them to delete personal information that you have provided via the Application, please contact About Fresh at info@aboutfresh.org and they will respond in a reasonable time.

Children

About Fresh does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, please do not submit any personal information through our Application. If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 13 has provided personal information to About Fresh through our Application, please contact us, and we will endeavor to delete that information from our databases.

Security

About Fresh uses organizational, technical and administrative measures designed to protect against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, disclosure, alteration and destruction of personal information we maintain. However, no Internet or e-mail transmission is ever fully secure or error free. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of personal information.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. About Fresh will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
